A new bird checks into my yard

Well, here’s a good shot of a Cardinal – which is Ohio’s Official Bird – bright red with black trim. I added some more of other birds including the elusive Bluejay that pops in from time to time.  One of the shots makes it look like the squirrel is getting ready to pounce on him.

  1. Actually, I think they are both from the same part of the bird family. Both have crests and shaped beaks for crushing flower seeds – like sunflower seeds. The Cardinals are plentiful, but Bluejays have only shown up in the last couple of years. Very pretty birds, but difficult to take their pictures because they hide a lot and jump from branch to branch quickly.
